It looks good.

For a bit of further inspiration here's a picture of the exhausts on a Merlin engined war bird. It's a Spitfire but uses a fuel formula close to WW2 specifications, so it is reasonable to assume that the colouring/staining would be similar too.

I reckon yours are close, maybe a little dry brushing?

Cheers

Hi Alan!

Have you started the cockpit? Any idea?

I'm thinking to paint mine with some weathering (chipping effect on the soil), anyway I have to look...I see some photos on the web, and everybody paint free...as the engine!

If you want can start it together and share some tips ;)

A very nice start indeed Alan. I've fancied one of these big birds since I was a kid but they've always scared me a bit.

Cockpit now finished , this was a bit awkward to build due to the soft plastic airfix uses to the build time on this was two days to make sure all the glue had cured properly , on researching the cockpit I found that it wasn't just green and black there were different shades of grey ,red and tan colour so I addes those , also I found that this isn't the cockpit for the MK I , the instrument panel has too many dials ans there are more leavers so I would say this is maybe a cockpit for a IA or higher but that's just rivet counter talk lol

So here's the pics View attachment 85032

Thanks guys I'm pleased you like it , I've now put it in the fuselage and I've had to super glue the front section as it was twisted now I've got a little bit of touching up to do :smiling3:

Cheers folks I'm pleased you like it :smiling3: I've finished my touch ups and I've dropped a boo boo lol

I knew that fitting the engine and cockpit would be awkward due to the twisted fuselage and in my haste I didn't put the rear wheel in View attachment 85133

So I've got to rig something up
