Its more of a lateen or Spanker/Driver boom. The fact that it is long does not change the name of the particular block.

I still can’t find the Derrick block even though I know what it is...all I can find is a Derrick lifting block which, naturally, is the block that lifts the Derrick when loading cargo....

You're right.
It's a Zuckerman helmet.Designed for the various civil defence groups in the UK in 1940. This one has FG stencilled on the front for Fire Guard.
It's taller than the military helmet to create a sort of crumple zone as it's designed to protect against falling masonry etc.rather than to give any ballistic protection.
