Thanks Steve, Richard and 'Barry' for your humorous comments. :thumb2:

.........by far the best thing before modern electric things !

Cheers.
Barry Bucknell.

.....and since!;)

Right, on we go with the wings.
You have the option of open or closed flaps. :flushed:!
I have gone for open. The instructions would have you cut these completely away from the main wing, then glue back later. I just carefully cut part way through and then bent the flap downwards.

Port wing flap bent down....

The components for the wheel housing and engine firewall.

I also glued on the long airducts or whatever they are, behind both engine bays. They are not seen, but I thought I would glue them on anyway.

Ready to be stuck together. Great, first time fit too. This shot shows better those 'ducts' behind the two engines.

Never mind yer posh clamps.

I've also brushed on a coat of Vallejo Air 'Aloominuum'

The flap. There are 6 or so 'hinges' which I will fix on later.

Engines next....

Thanks for looking in.

Thanks Jim. Pegs returned and peace reigns once more.....
By the way, how did you know I have an embarrassing 'Problem'?

Here's the excellently 1/72 detailed engines. Shame to hide them. ;)

You must have been well off as a youngster, we only ever got the 'hedgerow' versions.....lol..(found in the bottom of the hedges near the local woods..they were always wet through and ripped to shreds)

Thanks chaps.
Meanwhile, back at the build....... ;)

The landing gear.
Nice detail on the wheels

Also, the flap hinges I mentioned earlier, are now glued in place.

As can be seen, I've started to paint the wings. Time now to get some paint on the whole model.
I will attach both wings at a later stage.

Cheers.

That’s a battle you can’t win John. Many years ago I had an idea to make a set of figure priming holders by glueing pegs to square wood stock. The figures could then be held in the pegs while I sprayed them with a rattle can (it was pre airbrush days). I bought my own packet of wooden pegs from Tescos, made up the devices, put the unused ones in the peg bag, and then got given the mother of all telling offs for ”using all the pegs”. Herself simply wouldn’t believe I bought my own……the only way out was to buy yet another packet :sleeping2:
