Dang, I got one right!!! It was the three carbs on each side and I couldn't think of any other race motor with 6 cylinders...

So, sticking with motors, who made it and what was it used for???

Thank you. It is cooler, but rainy. So it's a water pumper & the fan is to cool the radiator beneath it. A german "pony motor" to drive a fluid pump? PaulE

No, the fan is for cooling the motor and doesn't drive a pump of any kind. It was used in a vehicle...
